Around Kanoya

This is a shot of the front of the Kanoya Air Force Base Museum.  I went with the father often to the base due to the fact that his company sold a large amount of maintenance equipment there.  Inside the museum, there is a vast amount of information and memorabilia about Japan's air force.  Outside the museum, you can see various helicopters and planes.

This is from Kirishimagaoka Park.  It is a large park with beautiful landscaping and large areas for various groups sports and activities.  From the tower in the picture, you can see the entire area.

I'm not sure of the exact historical facts about this statue.  Apparently the person represented here had some sort of ties with Spain and a famous festival of sorts.  Sorry, I don't know much more about it right now.  To give you an idea of how tall the statue is, my head would come to about the top of the name plate at the bottom.

This is the entrance to Osumi Park. It is another large park area that has various recreational facilities.  The landscaping was intricate here as well.  The part pictured is changed every year according to a chosen theme.  Because it was the year of the snake, this design was implemented.

A picture of a sunset seen from the front of the Tomoigawa's house (my homestay family).
