The Golden Pavilion

 

Here is Kinkakuji, the Golden Pavalion, which was constructed in 1397 as a retirement villa for a shogun.  His son later converted it into a temple.

 

This is Kinkakuji, the Golden Pavilion.  The pond is called Kyouko-chi (Mirror pond), and it contains various small islands.

A rainbow had formed in the waterfall, but it didn't come out in the pictures.  Still, I think the picture is nice.
