Shinagawa
This is Sengakuji Temple. It is dedicated to the story of the 47 Ronin, which is well-known in Japan. A ronin is a masterless samurai, and these 47 men plotted for 2 years to avenge the death of their master. After doing this, they were forced to commit "seppuku", or ritual disembowelment. Interestingly enough, only 46 of them had to do it. The 47th guy apparently got off on a technicality. Lucky guy......
I wasn't really supposed to take this picture, but I couldn't resist. Inside the main hall, there are displays like this one which displays things like clothes, weapons, statues, etc.
These last two pictures show the tombstone area for the samurai.
