Tottori

I had the opportunity to go with Jon and his host family to the Tottori region for the weekend.  I had a really nice time and I thank them immensely.  One of the things not pictured is me playing tennis with the group.  Don't worry, it wasn't pretty anyway....

Two of the men in the group were put in charge of cooking, seeing as how their wives were apparently unable to be there.  The food was magnificent.  The cabin itself was very nice.  There is an all-year-round Christmas theme.

This figure is common in many temples' gates in Japan.  You can see this in the previous picture.

At night, we had a big group Japanese-style barbeque. Everyone sits around the table and just grabs the food as it's ready.  Again, more really tasty food.
